In the footsteps of Lawrence…Captain Thomas Edward Lawrence was born in Wales, studied at Jesus College in Oxford, became an archaeologist in the Middle East and was a captain in the British Army and the RAF. He unknowingly found fame as ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ for his liaison role during the first World War’s Arab revolt against the Ottoman Turkish Empire (aided by the Germans), and subsequently for his written account after the war - The Seven Pillars of wisdom (1922) . As far as his motorcycle needs were concerned, he was not the average working man. He needed a superior bike to try and outrun his fame for one thing. He opted for the ‘Rolls Royce’ of motorcycles - a Brough Superior SS100 (Cost £170!).
